As a licensed Marvel artist, Robert depicts iconic scenes with the help of his trusty pencil. He uses a method called hatching, whereby he shades with closely-drawn parallel lines to imply shade, tone and texture.
This piece is inspired by the 1931 film Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi as the Count. Created with a budget of just $355,000, the movie went on to sell 50,000 tickets within 48 hours of it opening at New York's Roxy Theatre. Viewers were thrilled by the Gothic undertones, and the romance between John Harker and his fiance, Mina...plus of course the terrifying vampire!
